A long time has passed since "Reflections" was posted, but I have had time to reflect on this whole experience. I would like to share what I have learned and how I have grown from this. As christians we constantly remind ourselves that no matter what trials we go through that our God is always with us and will never forsake us. Do we truly believe that with our hearts? Do we receive it? The difficulty for me at first was that I was trying to handle everything on my own. I prayed, but didn't hear what God was telling me. I didn't want Joe to think he was a burden. He wasn't! I was the burden to myself! It was when I decided to let God control the situation and listen to him that everything changed. I finally got it! It was about surrendering to God and allowing his grace to cover us!

When I brought Joe home from the rehab center I parked him in his wheelchair in the middle of the room and told him that it was time to come to Jesus. This time when I prayed I knew with my heart and spirit that God was in control and we received the healing power of Jesus over him and claimed Jesus to be the only healer. The difference this time is that I really believed it. I had to accept that God loves me the same way he loves all of his children! God used this experience to make me a stronger person and bring me closer to him.

Christopher, I couldn't agree more with your observation. And for those that do claim to be spirit-led, I would ask - "Yes - but which spirit?"

Excellent article. There are too many soulish church leaders, and theologians. We need those who are truly led of the Spirit.

Joe - this is an awesome testimony of God's grace and mercy that he has for his children. He said in his word that he would never leave us nor forsake us but that he would be with us no matter what. His love toward us is so amazing. The song oh how he loves us oh how he loves you and me came to my mind when i read your testimony.

How awesome the FATHERS LOVE is for his children.
Thanks for your testimony it was a blessing to read - Robert Toschlog

p.s. - met your wife today at Blossom what an awesome woman of God - may the lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you both.

I am all so alone as i also can hardly leave my home and not worked since 1988. I need support but find none. I can't fight this battle alone it drives me into more despair its serious stuff and i am tired of it. but it was nice to read the post. Then i get phisically attacks and pains all over my body... So much to say....

Venee',

Thanks for stopping by and I really appreciate your kind words. When we get to experience that sense of peace, that's when we know - from our hearts - that everything we had believed and hoped for in faith, is true.

I've worked for 1st Investors for 10 years and I just recently developed a blessed relationship with your wife. She gave me your website today and it has blessed me so much. She suggested that I start with "Walk in the Valley". When my father passed I experienced a simular moment of dispair but I remembered who he belonged to and where he was going and a peace that I had never known before came over me. I was able to be the rock for the rest of my family and help them understand that God loved him even more and had another important job for him in Heaven. I will share this site with my friends and family so they may also be blessed. God is always with us if we just avail our minds and hearts to him.

Anthony,

Glad you enjoyed reading this - and I'm looking forward to our meeting as well.

Be sure and ask your wife about DoraLee giving me a call while they were talking - I think you'll get a kick out of it.
