About

The internet can be a cold and impersonal place. Here’s a bit of info so you can know a little about me and where I’m coming from.

Originally from Kentucky (yeah, I still bleed a little blue now and then), now living in the Indianapolis area with my lovely wife Dora Lee. That’s us in the photo toasting our anniversary on Mendenhall Glacier (taken while we were on our Alaskan cruise).

Sorta gives new meaning to the term “champagne on ice” don’t ya think.

Between us, we have six children – 2 grown sons and 4 spectacularly beautiful daughters (they all take after their mom).

She is my partner in this adventure, in every sense of the word. Aside from being a constant source of strength and inspiration for me, I enjoy the double blessing of having a loving and Godly wife by my side.

Just a bit more…..

Instead of rambling on about myself, I’ve chosen to borrow the following from John Eldredge’s site.

It’s a copy of a letter written long ago, and says it far better than anything that I could write.

This seems a cheerful world, Donatus, when I view it from this fair garden, under the shadow of these vines.

But if I climbed some great mountain and looked out over the wide lands, you know very well what I would see — brigands on the high roads, pirates on the seas; in the amphitheaters men murdered to please applauding crowds; under all roofs misery and selfishness.

It is really a bad world, Donatus, an incredibly bad world.

Yet in the midst of it I have found a quiet and holy people.

They have discovered a joy which is a thousand times better than any pleasures of this sinful life.

They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They have overcome the world.

These people, Donatus, are the Christians — and I am one of them.

— St. Cyprian, c. 258, a letter
